Coxheath Hills

Wilderness Trail & Lodge

A Journey Through Nature, A Place to Rest and Reflect

The Coxheath Hills Wilderness Trail is a journey into something deeper than a simple path in the woods. From the moment you step onto the trail, you’re surrounded by towering trees, winding footpaths, and breathtaking look-offs that remind you why nature is worth protecting.

The trail system offers a variety of routes, whether you’re looking for a short scenic walk or a challenging hike to the summit. Along the way, you’ll encounter hidden waterfalls, wooden bridges, and quiet spaces to pause and take it all in. And at the top of the mountain sits the Pittman Lodge, a rustic shelter offering a peaceful resting place and a stunning panoramic view of Cape Breton.

A Tradition of Environmental Stewardship

Every year, fallen trees are repurposed into trail markers, woodchips, and firewood for the lodge, ensuring that natural resources are reused in a way that benefits hikers and the ecosystem alike.

The trails are built, maintained, and loved by volunteers who clear paths, repair bridges, and enhance the hiking experience for all.
