Christmas at the Cabin
A Cozy Celebration in the Heart of the Hills
Each December, as snow blankets the Coxheath Hills and the pine trees whisper with winter stillness, our community comes together for a truly special tradition—Christmas at the Cabin.
Hosted at the summit’s rustic Pittman Lodge, this event combines storytelling, live music, and warm conversation with the magic of the season. It’s a chance to celebrate in nature’s embrace, lit by lanterns and guided by the glow of shared memories.
Event Highlights

A Festive Hike to the Lodge
Bundle up and take a peaceful, guided hike through the snow-covered trails. The scent of spruce and the crunch of snow underfoot set the stage for an unforgettable holiday gathering.

Warming Fire & Hot Cider
At the top, a woodstove crackles inside Pittman Lodge as hot cider warms your hands. Volunteers greet you with warmth and holiday cheer—whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning friend of the trail.

Songs, Stories & Community Spirit
Enjoy an intimate gathering with acoustic music, carols, and seasonal stories. From fiddles and guitars to tales that evoke Cape Breton’s rich traditions, the sound of the holidays fills the cabin and hearts alike.
